Hi There

My name is Minna.

I called myself 'Foolish', not just because I was born an April's Fools, but also because I've always been a little bit 'strange', 'abnormal', 'not quite like the others'.

You see, I was an ugly kid who wears mostly hand-me-downs. I was born premature, with very little hair, and a lot of eczema. My skin problems are visible and has caused me lots of pain and suffering, not just because I am itchy everywhere: back of my ears, neck, elbows, wrists, fingers, knees, ankles, calfs, pretty much all the joints and many other places on my body.

But also mentally. With eczema on my lips and ears, I was ashamed to meet anyone. I was shunned out of a public swimming pool because people is afraid that what I have might be contagious. I wear long sleeves shirts and long pants, even in summer, just to hide my skin problem.

Needless to say, I am not a social person, not the 'popular' girl in school. I can barely look anyone in their eyes, afraid of how they would judge me.

Wearing hand-me-downs didn't really bother me until I became a teenager. You see, I came from a long line of girls in the family. So clothes tends to be passed on from my oldest sister to my second sister, then to my first cousin, second cousin, third cousin, then back to me. Back then, clothes tends to last a lot longer. So I tend to wear clothes that are possibly 10 years old. Which wasn't really a problem, since most of the time I wear a uniform to my all-girls school. And weekends were mostly spent at home, studying and doing homework. But where I was going with this is, I had barely any interaction with the male species at all, until I was 16.

At 16, as an awkward teenager, my family moved from Hong Kong to Vancouver. Barely knowing a word of English, I became even more of an introvert.

But there's always a way to change your life. I got rid of my eczema, found the love of my life, never had to wear  'used' clothes anymore and even learned to really be peaceful and truly happy.

I am here to show you how.

Business and Relationships are my Specialty

Life is about balance. Balance between Work and life, health and wealth. We cannot have one without the other.

We are life partners as well as business partners. And we have been together since I was in college studying for my MBA. At the same time, I was able to fully rid of my skin problems.

After graduation, I started to work in the corporate world and at the same time we started multiple businesses together.

As a serial entrepreneur, a corporate consultant, and a wife all at the same time, I gained valuable insights on how to balance my professional life with my personal life, how to prioritize my work and my business, and how to still enjoy a loving, fulfilling relationship with Andrew.

Pet Peeve Alert

The most overused excuse these days is 'BUSY'. Want to get together with friends? They're too busy. Need some help from a co-worker? Nope. Busy. Ever asked 'how are you doing?' to people? The most common answer is 'Oh, so busy!'

Bad excuse.

I have a full time contract commitment, 2 businesses on the side, 3 cats, loads of friends and family, and I never claimed to be 'BUSY'.

Truth is, if you are 'too busy' to do something, than that something is not a priority for you.

Time is true equality. Every person, no matter their gender, status, color, age, physicality. Every person has 24 hours a day. No more, no less. You cannot BUY time, yet you can waste a lot of time on things that don't matter to you.

So next time people ask you

'How're you doing'?

'Can you help?'

'Get some time to catch up?'

Find a different answer. Because we all have the same amount of time.

A lot of people don't do well simply because they major in minor things.
