The Power of Attraction

Uncategorized Mar 15, 2018

Welcome to the Foolish Couple’s weekly Review. Our work focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles and couple’s wellbeing.

Recently we’d heard quite a few of our friends talk about the power of attraction, sometimes called the law of attraction. It seems to be a popular subject this time of year, probably because we’re in the first part of the year where people are trying to manifest their new year’s resolutions.
As Relationship transformation Coaches, we’ll talk about how to use the power of attraction, and more importantly, teach you the vital last step in the process that most of you are missing.
So what exactly is the power of attraction?
Well, if you Google the phrase ‘power of attraction’, it is more commonly known as the law of attraction. And there are a lot of theories of how to use the law of attraction to manifest your dreams, to make your dreams come true.
We tend to think of this a little...

How do OLYMPIANS fuel their bodies?

Uncategorized Mar 04, 2018

Foolish Review 2018 – Week 9 – How do OLYMPIANS fuel their bodies?

Welcome to the Foolish Couple’s Sunday Review. Our work focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles and couple’s wellbeing.

It felt like the whole world was watching the 2018 Winter Olympics. Once every 4 years, athletes trained non-stop just to be able to take a stab at getting GOLD. Being an Olympian is a lifetime achievement for any dedicated athlete.

Winter Olympics has a special place in my heart. I’m not a Winter sports person, I don’t ski, snowboard, ice skate, or do anything remotely close to ice or snow. However, we have personally met a few of the Olympic medalists, and they felt like friends to us.

There were a reported 2925 athletes that went to South Korea to compete at the Winter Olympics.

Olympic athletes have surprisingly high levels of commitment and dedication to their sports. They also take amazing care of their bodies. After all, their vehicle to success is their...

10 Signs you are a work addict

Are you addicted to work?

Addiction is generally a bad word. Most commonly used in relation to illegal substances, alcohol and gambling. It involves a compulsive need to something of substance. A gambler cannot walk away from a gambling table, until he is either being asked to leave or lost all his money. A drug addict must rely on the use of illegal substance to sustain his addiction. An alcoholic must have alcohol in their hands. They may hide it in a flask, but they cannot hide their addiction. Cigarette smokers are addicted to smoking. Addicts show physical signs of misery when they are not satisfied with an illegal substance and they often turn to other forms of addiction.  For instance most smokers are also alcoholics.

But there are other forms of addiction also. Some people are addicted to adrenaline. They will do anything to get that ‘adrenaline rush’, such as cliff diving, bungie jumping, or walking across 2 buildings on a tight rope. We call them...

Lover? Friends? Roommates? Frenemies?

health love relationships Feb 19, 2018

We just celebrated our 30 years since we first went out on our first date. It brought back so many memories on what led up to how we met and even certain secrets we didn’t know about how we met until now.

For instance, Minna did not know that I hacked into our computer class with my best friend to get her phone number and address.  She was always surprised how I got her phone number, now she knows.

I did not know that the romantic poem she sent to me anonymously was a dare and that she didn’t actually even write it, one of her best friends did! What a good laugh we got finding out 30 years later.

It’s been an amazing 30 years together and we still have that gleam in our eyes and smile every morning when we get up and we can’t wait to see each other again in the evening if we are apart doing our own gigs… Over dinner we will talk about how our days went, the funny things that happened and any challenges we encountered...

An Introvert's Guide to making an Awesome First Impression

This week, I was working on a new assignment, and I found myself in a position where I had to meet many new people, and quickly make a good impression with them so that we can work together peacefully and efficiently. As an introvert, leaving a good impression would have been a little difficult in the past, but I have outlived that fear many years ago.

Here’s how.

Extroverts seem to be able to do it all, don't they? My husband can walk up to any stranger and strike up a conversation. I can barely muster up the courage to ask for directions. He longs to go out and meet new people and make new friends. I prefer to stay home where I am safe and nicely tucked way from the world.

Maybe I can blame my parents for my ‘introvertedness’. Growing up, our apartment was always quiet. You could hear the movements of my mother cooking, or my father flipping the pages of  a newspaper. Except for the few hours when the TV was on, the house was quiet. Those days,...

Too Busy to Eat Well? Here's how to fix a Broken Diet

Welcome to the Foolish Couple’s insights. Our work focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles.

This week, our discussions revolve around being busy and how busy professionals stay healthy.

I often feel like I am the busiest person in the world. A full time gig during the day, 2 side businesses to run during night time and weekends, 3 cats that constantly make a mess at home. Between the work, side gigs, housework, how could there be time to eat healthy and exercise?

Yet there are people that can do it all. We all know that someone who seemed to be able to get it all done: Career on the rise. Finances strong, home is clean and in order, and healthy as a nut.

How do they do it? And, better yet, how can I do it myself?

If they can have it all, why can’t I? I don’t believe I’m genetically any different from them.

Health has nothing to do with money. You can be the richest person in the world yet still unhealthy. Money doesn’t fix your body. You cannot...

Sunday Review Week 4 - No Good Deed Goes Un.......

healthy lifestyle Jan 28, 2018

Welcome to the Foolish Couple’s Sunday Review. Our work focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles.

Every Sunday, we review what happened over the past week. Incidents that went well, we celebrate, and when it’s not, we share with each other, honestly, without judgement. We learn from it and figure out how to prevent the same situation from happening again.

And every week, we conclude our review with 3 things:

1.      Billboard – A ‘wisdom’ that will inspire and motivate you

2.      Lesson – Something we learned relating to healthy lifestyle

3.      Memory – A memory of our time together as a couple

This week, it’s all about doing good.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished is a ‘wisdom’ that has been passed down for years. According to Google, the original quote came from Clare Boothe Luce (1903 – 1987).

Is there any truth to this? Perhaps.

Have you ever...

Sunday Review - Week 3 - What doesn't kill you makes you stronger

coach entrepreneurship Jan 22, 2018

Welcome to the Foolish Couple’s Foolish Review 2018. We are Health and Relationship coaches and success mentors, serial entrepreneur, writer, and co-founder of the Foolish Academy.

Our resolution this year is to do a constant, weekly review of ourselves, and to share 3 main things with you every week.

1.      Billboard – A ‘wisdom’ that will inspire and motivate you

2.      Lesson – A tidbit we learned that week relating to our HEART framework (Health, Employment, Assets, Relationships, Time)

3.      Memory – A memory of our time together as a couple

We’re onto Week 3. And this week, it’s all about building a new business.

First, here’s this week’s quote. And it’s actually one of our own. The inspiration came from our Success Coaching program, and also from our practice of the Law of Attraction. The quote says:

Our expectation manifests our...

Sunday Review - Week 2 - Get Comfortable Doing the Uncomfortable

Once, there was a young martial arts student. He was at an Aikido dojo, and he watched his Sensei, his teacher, sparring with another accomplished fighter. He was very impressed and he walked up to his master, saying.

“Master, you never lose your balance. What is the secret?”

His sensei answered him, “You are wrong, my child. I am constantly losing my balance. My skill lies in my ability to regain my balance, over and over again.”

We lose our balance all the time. Every day, we strive on doing what’s uncomfortable.

This week, our challenge is to rebuild our website, create, setup, and promote an online program. Although we are experienced entrepreneurs, what we’re doing is still new to both of us. And we learn together, discuss the ins and outs, ups and downs of this new endeavor that we are pursuing this year.

So in our weekly review this week, we’re going to talk about getting uncomfortable. You see, everything...

Science proves exercise alone won't help you lose much weight

We are at that time of year where everyone is busy making New Years’ resolution. Sometimes, it’s the same resolution as last year, and the year before … Year after year, we consume too much food and drinks over the holidays, and we want to shed those excess pounds we gained and get into shape.

But before you sign up for another gym membership promotion, hoping that this year you can lose weight and get in shape by working out regularly, let me ask you this:

How did that work out for you last year? Or the year before that? Do you think this year will be any different?

You may be very enthusiastic at first, going to the gym every day, taking as many fitness classes as you can, lifting weights, doing spin classes, kick boxing, etc…

Your enthusiasm may last about 30 days, maybe even up to 2 months. We notice this because, the parking lot at the gym is always full the first 2 months of the year. And then, it gets emptier and emptier.

You burn out, because...
