Need a New Year's Resolution ideas? How about this?

If you have been with us for a while you would know that we set a couple’s new year’s resolution every year. Basically, every year, we decide on something that we would do together, as a couple, would enhance our experience as a couple.

 

2 years ago we decided to watch 52 sunsets together. We felt that everyone is always so “busy busy busy” that we often forget the beauty that is already around us. So we decided on watching sunsets together, just to take a few moments to be unplugged, relaxed, and just take in the beauty of nature.

 

Last year, we upped the game by setting a goal to cook 12 meals together. Now it may sound like a simple goal. We’re not talking about just our daily meals. We do eat dinner at home 3 to 4 times a week, and it is usually something simple like salads during summer months and a hearty soup in winter. Our goal is to cook a meal together, using 1 main ingredient, 2 chefs (that’s us), and 3 courses.  We really barely made it but we did. And we’ve used ingredients such as cauliflower, lobster, prawns, stone fruits, cheese, and the last one we did was actually using a Chinese roast duck and turned that into a 3 course meal.

 

For 2018, we are changing the game. This year we are combining our relationship goal with our personal development goal. Now people say that there is nothing better than to share your happiness with others, and that the best way to learn something is to teach that thing that you want to learn.

 

Here’s our 2018 resolution. An important part of personal development is to constantly review your life. On a weekly basis, you should review your level of engagement, energy level, are you on track with your mission or are you distracted? Are you consciously designing your life? What is our vision for your life?

 

So for us, once a week, we are going to review our week together, and release a message to our readers that has 3 sections:

 

1.     A Billboard – this is a wisdom that we wanted to share with you that week. It may be a quote, a tweet, a picture, just something that would inspire you and keep you motivated, or maybe just to lift your spirits.

2.     Something we learned relating to our HEART framework. The HEART framework is the foundation of our practice as a couple and is made up of 5 elements: HEART, ENGAGEMENT, ASSETS, RELATIONSHIPS, and TIME. Every week we will share with you something that we learned on one of the elements in our HEART framework. It may be just a small tidbit, a new research, something new that we have tried or want to try, or something else.

3.     Specific to our relationship – a memory of us in that week. It may be a picture, a conversation, an experience that we’ve shared, a discussion topic, or something fun that happened during that week. We hope that by sharing our experience with you, you can get some insight on how to enhance your relationship.

 

That’s it. For 2018 we will release 52 weekly reviews with you. We want to give you the best chance to your success, whether it is in your health, your career, your finances, or your relationships. And we feel that by sharing our reviews with you that you can learn from not just our success but also our failures. During January most of us are making some type of New Year’s Resolution. And we are here to help. Since most resolutions revolve around either Health or Wealth, we are releasing 2 new online programs.
